Michelle Carroll Smith, Lytle ISD Superintendent - Email

I have been a member of the Lytle ISD family most of my life. I am a third generation Pirate as my grandmother, Teresa Naegelin Carroll graduated from Lytle High School in 1940 and my father, Alfred Lee Carroll, graduated in 1961 from Lytle High School. I graduated in 1980. My son graduated adn my daughter is currently attending Lytle High School and represent the fourth generation of my family to attend Lytle schools.  Lytle ISD has been my place of employment since 1987. I started as an elementary teacher for 7 years and in 1994 became vice principal of the elementary. In September 2000, I moved to Central Office as Assistant Superintendent and was named Superintendent in December 2002.  

As Superintendent of Lytle ISD, I work to ensure a quality education for all students. Together, with community and staff, we strive daily to help our children prepare for their lives as members of our community and our nation. Our goal of providing the skills necessary to live a good life requires the commitment of many people. My admiration and thanks goes to all those who make Lytle ISD a Leader In Student Development.

Harry Piles, Lytle ISD Assistant Superintendent - Email

My career in education has spanned 27 years including ten years in the United States Air Force and nine years in the classroom and coaching in East Central ISD. The last eight have been as a school administrator for Lytle ISD. 

My training included a bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University in 1999 and followed it with a Masters in Education in 2009. 

Shannon, my wife, is a Campus Learning Leader at Lytle Elementary and we have four children. Our oldest son, Steven is a teacher in Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD, Patrick is in music sales in San Antonio, and two young daughters are proud Pirates!
