LHS Pirate Band students earn 1st Divisions from Region XI UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest

On Saturday, (I’m pretty sure for the first time ever), Lytle hosted the Region XI UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest.  Eight schools (including Lytle) participated, and several Lytle Band students performed well enough to earn the top rating, and for the 6th consecutive year, no Lytle event received a rating lower than a 2.

Soloists who earned a 1st Division include:

Sandra Angeles (Soph)
Faith Soto (Soph)
*Brandi Perkins (Jr)
Hailey Hughes (Soph)
Tabitha Guardiola (Sr)
Haley Leven (Jr)
*Dylan Martinez (Jr)
Rachel Terzado (Soph)

Two ensembles also earned 1st Divisions:

Woodwind Trio:  Theresa DeLaCruz (Soph), Jasmin Garcia (Soph) and Destiny Perez (Soph)
*Saxophone Trio:  Hailey Hughes, Tabitha Guardiola, and Dylan Martinez

Three events (*) met the qualifications required to advance to the State Solo & Ensemble Contest.  These were the Saxophone Trio, and the solos by Brandi Perkins and Dylan Martinez.  They will compete at Hendrickson HS in Pflugerville on Monday, May 26th.

Please join me in congratulating these students on their great results!
