This past Thursday Junior High and High School FFA members competed in the STI FFA Judging Contests at the Atascosa County Fairgrounds. The competing team consisted of Livestock, Poultry, Floral, and Milk Quality Products. The two high school teams are Floral and Livestock. The junior high teams are Poultry and Milk Quality Products.
Lytle FFA's top honors go to the Floral Team as they ranked 1st in District, and 2nd in Area as a Team!! The Individual placings are as follows: Natalie Andrade- 1st place high point individual in the Wintergarden District/5th place high point individual in Area X, Belen Garcia- 3rd place high point individual in the Wintergarden District/9th place high point individual in Area X, and Tamara Alvarado- 4th place high individual in the Wintergarden District/10th place high point individual in Area X!!!! We are hopeful that these ladies can carry this success going into the Area Contest this Wednesday in Robstown that all four teams will be competing in. If they do just as well or hopefully better they will have the opportunity to go to the State Contest!
The Livestock Team consists of Rene Barron, Britty Oliver, and Yesenia Garcia
The Milk Quality Team was 6th as a team in the Wintergarden District and 17th in Area X. For three of the boys it is only their second contest and for one it was his first contest. These junior high students are steadily improving and we are very proud of how far they have come already. The team consists of David Morales, Isaiah Gonzalez, Cylus Lira, and Jack Hinshaw
The Poultry team was able to enter in the Greenhand division which is for junior high and first year members. They placed 3rd in the Wintergarden District and 7th in Area X. That is quite an accomplishment for such a young, brand new team. The team consists of Erica Fraizier, LeAnn Castro, Khloe Moran, and Kayla Alvarez.
The Lytle FFA and the Lytle FFA Advisors wish all of these students good luck at the Area Contest!!
