In our ongoing effort to keep you well informed and to make sure you have accurate information, we would like to share with you a trend on social media referred to as “creepy clown” posts. These incidents are occurring across the state and across the nation. We strongly believe these social media posts are hoaxes. However, any disruption at our campuses is taken seriously.
We know that that you entrust us with your children’s safety and while no specific threats have been made against any of our schools, we remain dedicated to providing a safe environment for all our children. We will monitor social media, and take appropriate actions as necessary.
Social media is a powerful method of communicating. That power can be used for good or to create fear and uncertainty. This is an opportunity for all of us to have discussions with our children about the benefits of social media as well as the dangers of misusing it. Students involved with some inappropriate posts are not only subject to disciplinary action at school, but may also face criminal charges. Making sure our campuses remain safe places to learn remains our top priority.
We would also like to take this opportunity to let you know in advance, no clown costumes will be permitted at any school related event, festival or party.
If you have any concerns please contact your campus administration.
