Pirate Band preps for UIL Contests; disappointed in results

The band participated at the Region 11 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest yesterday in Pleasanton, looking for redemption after falling just short of a 1st Division in October at UIL Marching Contest.  However, we will have to wait until next year to get things turned around again.  The band received a 3-3-2 split in Concert, and a 2-2-1 split in Sight-Reading, making this the first year since 2009-10 that we have not received a 1 in at least one of the three contests.

A lot of early mornings and extra work was put in by the students trying to be ready for yesterday’s contest, and I commend their level of dedication and willingness to sacrifice.
