On Saturday, 12 LHS Band members traveled to Fredericksburg to compete against the best band students from the 20+ schools in Region XI.  Named to the All-Region 2nd band were Senior Natalie Andrade and Junior Rachel Terzado.  Named to the All-Region 1st Band, and also receiving All-Area honors were Seniors Brandi Perkins and Dylan Martinez, and Freshman Ethan Esquibel.  These three students will be advancing to the next level of auditions.  They will compete at Orange Grove HS on January 10th in hopes of earning a place in the prestigious All-State Band.

All five of these students worked very hard and are to be congratulated on earning All-Region honors in an extremely competitive region.  Two accomplishments are deserving of extra mention:

With this year's recognition, Brandi Perkins became the first Lytle ISD student ever to be named All-Region 7 years - JH All-Region her 6th, 7th and 8th grade years, and HS All-Region all four of her HS years.

We are still needing to try to find records to verify, but Ethan is the first LHS freshman to advance to All-Area auditions since at least 2008, and possibly since 2001.

Congratulations to all five of our All-Region band members, and good luck to Brandi, Dylan and Ethan at Area!

Thank you for all you do to support and encourage all our students.
