The Lady Pirates had a packed gym on Lytle’s side on Tuesday night, February 13, 2024, to cheer the girls on as they beat Poteet 50-27 to bring home another gold ball for their collection. Nerves got to a few of the girls as they just did not play their best game. They could not buy a basket from the outside from anyone. Two Freshmen have been starting now for the team and you can sometimes forget they are Freshmen. The upperclassmen have to do a better job taking control of the game and helping the young ones out. The girls had 24 turnovers and that is not Lytle basketball. Here’s hoping they got their bad game out of the way and are focused on Friday. The girls are 27-7 for the year. The girls are working hard, and the coaching staff is proud of all 8 of them and their dedication.

The girls will travel to Seguin on Friday, February 16, 2024, to take on Edna for Area Champs and tip off will be 6pm. The girls will have to be ready to play, it will be a battle on Friday night! Go Pirates!
