The Lady Pirate track team traveled to Devine last night, March 20, 2024, to compete in the second-to-last Meet before District. There were great performances from both groups, and everyone looks forward to the last Meet next Thursday, March 28, 2024, in Three Rivers.
Says Coach Ruiz, “I do want to mention Freshman Addison Wagner's performance. She started the year running a 13:53 in the 3200m and has lowered it down to 13:08.36 and has a chance now to run Varsity next week. This is the second time this school year she has started on Junior Varsity and stayed on the path, not skipping steps, and has worked herself on to Varsity. As a coach, it is what you love to see. An athlete works through the system, believes in it and themselves, and sees the success that comes with it.”
