GIRLS WIN VS NATALIA 14-11, 13-1 officially.
Friday night, April 5, 2024, felt like a rollercoaster ride.
The offense came alive as the girls collected sixteen hits, thirteen runs, eleven RBIs, and six stolen bases. Nayelli Pacheco led the Lady Pirates as she drove in four runs on three hits, doubling in the 7th, scoring 2 runs, and tripled in the 2nd, scoring 1.
This win ties Lytle for 2nd in District with Natalia. The next game is here in Lytle at 6 p.m. vs Cotulla, who is currently undefeated.
GAME RECAP
Natalia took the lead first, scoring one in the bottom of the 1st. The Pirates captured the lead in the top of 2nd by scoring four. The 3rd inning brought Natalia back in the lead by scoring 5. The Pirates tied the game in the 5th with Charity Purtell who tripled and then tagged up to score. Again, Natalia took the lead, bringing the score 6-7.
The Pirates were on fire in the 7th, scoring 8 runs on 6 hits. Danica Martinez advances to 3rd on errors and then scores off Pacheco's sac fly. The game is now tied 7-7. Purtell singles, Payton Devaney singles on an error and Sprenger pops out. The biggest rally came with two outs.
Addison Criado reaches 1st base on an error that allowed Purtell and Devaney to score. Giselle Esparza hit a huge single and earned 2 RBIs.
