Girls Basketball offers Pep Talks to elementary students

On Monday, April 8, 2024, several High School students went to Lytle Elementary to offer the students words of encouragement for the upcoming STAAR testing. Elementary Principal Wendy Caroll Conover shares her thoughts on this wonderful event.

I wanted to take a moment to share some truly inspiring news about our recent Pep Talks for STAAR/MAP testing season.

Our first-ever event was made extraordinary by the incredible presence of the high school students. They left a lasting impression on me, my crew, and our students. While I was initially excited about the eclipse, witnessing these older students (my babies) speak so articulately and motivate our kids was truly a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Their message about "Championship Day" resonated deeply. They emphasized giving it your all and leaving everything on the court, floor, ring, or stage – a sentiment that captures the importance of these tests.

The Pep Talks were nothing short of outstanding. They were undoubtedly the highlight of my day. I believe parents, teachers, and the community must know just how remarkable these students are. Their accomplishments are impressive, but their presentation and speaking skills were equally remarkable.

I couldn't be prouder of them, and I wanted to share my admiration with all of you. Let's continue to support and nurture these extraordinary individuals as they continue to inspire us all.

Thank you to all coaches, leaders, directors, teachers, and sponsors of these kids!

Best day EVER to be a PIRATE!!!
