Lytle Independent School District is pleased to announce Matthew C. Jenke, M.Ed., as the new principal of Lytle High School for the 2024-25 school year. Mr. Jenke is a native of nearby Somerset with over a decade of educational leadership experience. He most recently served as the Assistant Principal of Somerset High School, where he demonstrated exceptional abilities in instructional leadership, student achievement growth, and campus safety. His career in public education includes significant roles as a Career & Technology Education Teacher at O'Connor High School and as a District DAEP Administrator, where he focused on At-Risk students. Known for building and maintaining strong relationships, Mr. Jenke is committed to engaging with students, staff, parents, and the community to enhance the educational environment at Lytle High School. We wish Mrs. Stewart well as she has chosen to leave Lytle ISD to pursue new endeavors. We thank Mrs. Stewart for the past 7 years of her service here at Lytle as a principal, first at our junior high and then at our high school.
